Task 2: Smoking not only harms the smoker, but also those who are nearby. Therefore, smoking should be banned in public places. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Smoking not only harms the smoker, but also those who are nearby. Therefore, smoking should be banned in public places. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

Smoking is widely known as injurious to health, still many tend to smoke very often. While some have an opinion that the administration should forbid cigarette usage in common areas, others argue it might limit some folk's privilege/privacy/freedom. I agree with the former opinion and this essay will elaborate more on my view.

On the one side, smoking can cause strain on individuals who are surrounding active smokers. This is because some people cannot even breath the smell that a cigarette produces and hence are often offended by smokers nearby. For instance, even a sniff of that fume may impact an asthmatic patient or might bring about the illness in infants close by. It may affect people with lung diseases, if the smokers will continue smoking in public places without keeping others health in notice.

Furthermore, some of the individuals tend to take a puff and ready to spend more on expensive types of smoking devices such as e-cigarettes, vapes and so on. The reason for this is that most of the teenagers pretend to act like their favorite celebrities that may create bad image of on today's generation, especially among teens. For example, recently there was a news article that stated the police detained a few higher secondary students from a reputed school in town for selling cigarette packs inside the premises of campus. If higher authorities will take appropriate actions against media programmers, a healthy and disciplined community can be built easily.

In conclusion, in my opinion, necessary steps should be taken by authorities to prohibit smoking in public localities, as it seems logical to advice that it can lead youngsters towards bad activities and many others will stand by this prohibition since it involves the future generation
